Email is the best way to reach me directly: . A short message saying who you are and what you would like to do together helps me reply quickly.

Study and research

I am interested in hearing from prospective PhD and Masters students working on transport data science, active travel, open data and open-source tools for planning.

Collaboration

I work with public bodies, charities, companies and other researchers on data, models and tools for sustainable transport, from national planning tools to city-level studies. See current projects for examples, then email me with an outline of your question, data or idea.

Software and methods questions

I get many questions about software, and asking in public is usually best:

  • Open an issue or discussion on the relevant GitHub repository. You are likely to get a quicker answer, and other people can benefit from it.
  • I prioritise well-asked questions with a reproducible example.
  • For geographic data science with R or Python, join the geocompx Discord: discord

Talks and media

I speak about open tools, transport data and reproducible research at conferences, workshops and training events. See past and upcoming events, then email me with the date, audience and format.
