Reflections on 2023
Like last year’s reflections post, I’m going to keep this one short and use it as a chance to reflect on what I’ve been up to over the last 12 months, what I’ve been working on, research I’ve contributed to, and hopes for next year.
Research highlights
This year saw continued work on: - Active travel safety: Contributing to the SaferActive project - Open transport tools: Continued development of the Propensity to Cycle Tool - Transport data science: Teaching and developing the MSc module at Leeds
Publications
Key publications in 2023 included work on: - Spatial analysis methods for transport - Open source software for geographic data - Active travel infrastructure planning
Looking ahead to 2024
Next year I hope to: - Continue growing the Transport Data Science teaching - Publish more open source tools - Engage with international collaborators - Progress research on cycling infrastructure prioritisation
Happy new year!
